Safety in the car
- The phone only in a fixed holder attached to the front seat's headrest. Never put it in the car seat, on the child or on the parcel shelf: a loose phone becomes a dangerous object under hard braking or in a crash.
- Start Zibko before you drive, while the car is parked.
- The driver never handles or looks at the phone while driving. To change anything, stop somewhere safe first.
- Zibko does not replace adult supervision. The baby rides in a properly fitted car seat, and an adult looks after them as always.
- Keep the volume moderate. Zibko caps it at 80 % of the phone's volume (60 % by default); set it so the sound is quiet and calm.
- Follow the traffic rules and the instructions of the holder's and the car seat's makers.
1. Screens and babies
The World Health Organization (WHO, 2019 guidelines) does not recommend screen time for babies under one year. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) advises against screen media other than video-chatting for children under 18 months.
That is why Zibko is mostly sound. The picture is dark, slow and never flashes, and it fades out by itself after the time you choose while the sound plays on. If you like, choose the shortest time, or angle the phone so the baby can't see the screen.
Zibko is not a medical device and does not treat or prevent anything. For questions about your child's sleep, eyesight or hearing, ask your paediatrician.
2. Use
Zibko is a personal project of Marko Divjak (DivjakLab). You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not modify, decompile or resell it, except as the law allows.
Zibko relies on the phone's own features (Guided Access on iPhone, app pinning on Android). Apple and Google are responsible for how those work; try them at home before you rely on them.
3. Limitation of liability
Zibko is provided as it is, without a guarantee that it will always work without errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for harm caused by use contrary to these terms, in particular the safety section. Your consumer rights under Slovenian and EU law are not affected.
4. Sounds, picture and fonts
We made every sound and the picture in the app ourselves. The Nunito font on this site is published under the SIL Open Font License (licence text).
5. Privacy
Zibko collects no personal data. The details are in the privacy policy.
6. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the new version will be published on this page with a new date. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Slovenia.
